I did it a long time ago and it's helped a lot specially with the aluminum heat shield that we installed

Could you explain the aluminum heat shield you installed, I looked at a sound deadening that had a heat shield also.
Want to know what you used and are you satisfied with it ?

Sure, we made our own plate, out of aluminum, our neighbor cut it to fit with a plasma cutter. Its on over the rear diff, and it blocks the heat from the exhaust pipe from going to the diff and boots, we checked it with a Temp gun, and it make a HUGE difference on the diff heat. I'll look and see if i have a pic, i did at one time, if not, i'll take you one tomorrow. Id recomend getting that sound dampening kit too, i already spend alot of money on sound proofing materals in the cab of my Viking its make a huge difference, its such a pleasure to drive around now. I got my heat/exhaust wrap, on eBay. Last i looked couldnt find the exact one, but there's alot on there, DEI is a real good brand. I got a 50' roll, had plenty left over.

Hello. I had a lot of heat issues with my Ranger. I've recently sold it looking at other options. My Ranger I wrapped the header pipe. Installed a heat shield and heat blanket under the seat. Then installed a marine blower and duct work to move the air out from under the SXS. And it was still hot.
So reading about heat issues with the Viking....it scares the hell out of me that I'll be right back in the same boat. Polaris moved the engine to the rear back under the bed. I haven't tried out a Viking yet. But the photos 'look' like the engine is pushed to the back under the bad eliminating the heat in the cab. ????

I had a Ranger aswell, and i know what your talking about, Dont worry about heat with the Viking, I dont cnsider it a problem at all with the Viking, the heat shields, wrap, etc that alot of us have done, is really just to keep the heat off the diff, and works great to do so. In the cab, i haven't noticed any heat so far.
