I have a 2016 Viking and just experienced a dipstick blow out resulting in a blown motor. Any help as far as known bulletins or recalls from Yamaha would be a great help. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

Yamaha supposedly fixed that on the 2015 models but evidently they didn't. Moisture freezes in the crankcase breather tube and causes a pressure build up which blows the dipstick out. Do a search for "dipstick" and it will come up with several threads. Yours is the first one I have read about this winter. Yamaha did warranty some of these so maybe they will come through for you.

If you have to rebuild yourself, let me know as I have a few sponsors who can rebuild your engine for far less than the dealer, one of which can make upgrades the dealer is unable to.

That's a problem. It was in the heated shop being diagnosed because I had no idea about this problem until after the fact. Thanks for the response.
