I had my welder buddy whip me up some custom aluminum bed wall extensions for the Viking. They are pretty sweet and add tons of functionality to the bed
Man I see a million uses and a huge market for those, especially if you could incorporate or accomodate the in-bed mounted Yamaha box. Is your buddy interested in making a little money on the side?
