Can I tow my viking?

We have a new Viking and are putting the extras together. I notice that the optional winch plate on the front can take a 2 inch hitch. Does this mean that it can be safely towed?

It sounds like a bad idea but would be nice for short tows to nearby trails.

No.

The they have an option for 2 winch mount plates, one for the winch to be mounted in the front and it stays put in the Frame.

Or a mount where you mount the winch to a plate with a reciever hitch tube on it, and you can remove the winch, and put in the back hitch hole, to winch from the rear.
oyeah, WELCOME ABOARD.
Thanks for the reply. My old trailer is 4 inches thinner than my new Viking so we're off to pick up a new trailer tomorrow.
Cheers - Doc
No problem, we had to get a new Trailer too, We got a 6.5 x 12. Thats what id recommend to ya getting.
fits fine on 6x10, tires up against front with 4" to spare with gate up
It would be cool if you could tow them, but honestly they would probably get take too much abuse. Tires wearing too fast, rock chips, etc.

Hi, brand new here and I am working with a local dealer on a viking but they aren't moving much on the price ($14700 otd).
So my next option is to bargain for add ons. Is this winch plate you mention homemade or purchased?

dale. that price seems a little high. where are you from, what viking are you getting and what accessories come with it for that price? just as a comparison i paid 16,500 otd for mine and got a camo viking with eps, roof, windshield, 3500lb winch, bed mat, center console, brush guard, big wheel kit( 14in wheels and 27in tires) and the extended 4yr warranty

maybe check other dealers in your area?? idk if thats an option for you though. anyway, just trying to help
oh and where are my manners. welcome to the forum!!!
Caspar, I'm from Maine. I thought the price was high also and there are no extras ! I called 2 other dealers one 150miles south and one 150miles north . The one to the south is about the same the price but they add in a winch . The one to the north is about 1k below MSRP, no extras, he doesn't have any atm but has some coming in after the 4th, I have to call him this week for colors and pricing . There is another dealer about 150 south that I have emailed that has some for about the same price as the other one down that way, no extras, I have asked if they can sweeten the pot some. I most likely will go with the one to the north of me. So far the higher priced dealers say they don't need to come down on price because they are selling so well. My answer is - ok I don't have to buy one either . :)

well good luck with whatever dealer you go with. hopefully they will at least give you a good deal on accessories. im from pa. and i dont think where im at the vikings sell very well so maybe thats why the price was a little better. so far where we ride i havnt seen another viking. when i drive up people dont even know what it is. anyway good luck with your purchase and post up some pics when you get one
Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum!
I was wondering if anyone knows the exact height of their Viking (with stock wheels and roof)?
I have my eyes on a Viking and want to make sure it will fit through the rear door of my 7X14 enclosed trailer.......
Welcome to the site, the Yamaha site states that the Vikings is 74.1" in tall.
Thanks Viking2k14..... I was just wondering if this is a true height (since I am short about a inch in height on my door opening).....
