Well, today....I ran into my first Viking issue.

The REVERSE light is ON no matter what gear I'm in....Which keeps my reveres LED bar on ALL THE TIME. I installed the relay per a write up and I haven't had an issue until today. I did wash the Viking today...sprayed water every where but even after that, I didn't have this issue. I even swapped out the relay, just in case the relay went bad, and i still didn't fix the issue.

I unplugged the back up light relay and the REVERSE light is still ON on the dash. The Viking starts up fine....I haven't driven it so I don't know if there's going to be an issue at higher speed.

I tried searching every where and I couldn't find how to get into the diagnostic mode. I'm still under warranty so I'm wondering if I should just take it to the dealer.

Weird. Maybe the reverse switch went bad?

Yes sir.

I took the Viking down the street just to see if the rev limiter had been activated like a few people mentioned....and it did. The rev limiter flips on at 24mph. According to my research in the Rhino forums and other platforms that share the 700 engine......its either the crankcase "sensor" (mechanical) that isn't getting earth properly or its a bad CDI.....mine is still under warranty so I just dropped the Viking off at the dealer today.

I'll keep you guys posted.

Hold my beer....

Thanks, I hope it gets fixed by this up coming weekend....I may be bound for a snow trip :)

Otherwise, I just have some wheeling planned for the Sierras early next year....hopefully this doesn't drag on for a while.

Still no word from the dealer.........I'm assuming its due to the holidays and short staff on hand.

I can handle electrical, but if it's still under warranty.... Why waste my beer and time when I can have someone do it for free, lol

But yeah, I agree, I'm assuming a switch/sensor went bad or it's just a bad connection.

I asked my mechanic and he said they haven't seen that and it is probably something easy in the electrical. He did say they haven't been having any mechanical issues with the Viking, that was good news to me.

Called the dealer today...since I hadn't heard back.

As I suspected, they are blaming my LED wiring setup. Their main tech is suppose to call me back......I told them my setup had been working for a little over a week before I had any issues.

.....so as of now, they don't think this will be covered under warranty :facepalm.

I'll update as soon as the tech calls me back and I explain to him how I wired my LED up...which is no different than the stock LED setup...for the exception that mine doesn't have the benefit of a nice looking plug, lol.

This is BS but not uncommon. I had installed some nice PIAA driving lights on my Mini and was told it voided the warranty for all electrical issues. There had been a bad plug connector for the steering wheel electronics. It was a big fight to get it covered under warranty even though it had nothing to do with the driving lights.

Yeah, the technician never called me back yesterday.

I'll definetly be riding their ass about this.... If it was the back up light... I would think it would have damaged the switch on the first go around but it didn't.

This is why I dislike dealerships.

I called the dealer back today....since they didn't call me back yesterday as promised........I informed them that I would be picking up the Viking this evening and wanted to know how much I owed them for their time.....the sales guy said they hadn't even touched my Viking therefore I don't owe them anything :yay: ....not what the tech told me the day before.....:facepalm

So, I'm picking her up tonight.....bringing her home and taking her to another dealer tomorrow evening after work. At this point...I think it's the reverse switch is bad and just needs to be replaced....which I could do my self but I want to make sure, so off to another dealer.
