I haven't had that problem with my viking yet although I can see where it could happen. My father has a Rhino and he was having a hard time keeping his Radiator clean n it and we used plexi-glass to build inner fenders for the rhino that extended all the way to the front bumper and then painted the plexi-glass black and now you can't even notice its there and we have had NO mud touch the radiator. But to be on the safe side we also took the windshield washer tank and motor off of a 1989 Mazda B2600 and mounted it along with 6 feet of hose under the hood on the rhino so if it does get muddy you can wash it back out, or when our buddies get there's muddy we can wash there's out, works really well. I will try to get a few pics of the whole thing today and post, maybe you can do something like that on your Viking.

like that windshield washer tank/motor idea. not sure bout the plexi glass. my viking needs all the air it can get on these dusty long red clay dirt rds. lol. i try to hit shallow creeks often on rides. i ve traded a cold beer to a stranger to use his water hose on the side of his house to spray the red clay off the radiator. serious i keep my radiator clean. what do yall think about keeping a 3 gallon lawn pump sprayer with half a cup of hvac coil cleaner mixed with water bungee corded in the bed for those 100 mile weekend rides?

Makes good sense to me if you're having that much trouble with mud in the radiator

Thanks for all the ideas I hope they keep coming. I have only had one problem the last ride was about 30 miles and I hit lots of mud. At the end of they day temp light came on but I shut it off just as soon as it came on then I pulled it home on trailer. Front of radiator was coated with mud so I cleaned it out and topped the coolant off with the little bit it spit out. It did not stay hot long because I had lots of water to cool it down but I an just looking for ideas to prevent problem in future.

we didn't block the air off to the radiator we just built inner fenders for it so it wouldn't throw mud off the tires up in the radiator, it actually provides a bit more air it seems, because it works like a funnel on the rhino.
