Hello, I'm thinking of purchasing a new 2015 Yamaha Viking camo with eps also getting tatou 4s tracks , does this Utv have the power to pull this up a hill of 45 % grade about 25 yards long ? That is the way id need to get off my lake , I'd prob only use this machine in winter for ice fishing ....... Any thoughts would be appreciated

I'm not real familiar with tracks but the Viking does put out 47HP......I know sand may not be comparable to snow but I've ridden dunes with real soft sand in 4WD and went up some real steep stuff....granted I had a good run at it but I never really felt the machine bog down so much that I had to abort the hill.

Hope some of that is of some use to you.
I've seen a few Vikings on the forums with Tracks, and theyl ove them, from all ive seen and read, you cant go wrong with those tracks, there the best.
Ok, Im almost sure it will be torquey enough ."...thx
I had the 4s on my 2011 550 Grizzly and it went anywhere! It just takes you longer to get there. Top speed in the deep powder was around 12 mph. On open hard pack top speed was around 30mph. Tracks are great for a utility application and work.

Based on my use of the vehicle going up steep hills in low gear, it has plenty of pull. We had three adult males, 200+ lbs each, in it with no problems. We went through a steep (50-60 degree) rocky wash for about 200-300 yards. I was very impressed.
Pics or it didn't happen
"But honey, Rob said I have to prove it happened with pics. My buddies and I have to go ride and recreate it. Sorry. Forum rules."

:p

Too much fun riding, so no happy snaps. Next time...maybe I'll think to take some.

You and I....you and I.
The viking with 4s tracks is like a tank in snow. It's a go anywhere machine. Little slow like all Utv's on tracks but a true beast. Gas mileage is cut in half. Deep powder snow is not a issue. We just had 40cm of fresh and it plows through it like nothing. Pushing snow with the front bumper. As for steep grades it will perform no problem. Top speed about 40km/hr or 70 on gauge. I only use mine in high gear low is not needed. Never even use diff lock.
I have a 2014 Viking with the tatou 4s. I live in Newfoundland , Canada and I also use my Viking for ice fishing and snow clearing. The tracks are awesome and you have no worries about steep inclines, they will crawl just about anything on tracks. You lose a bit of top speed but I have achieved around 50 kilometer per hour at full speed in high range. The tracks are pricey but well worth the money if you want to be able to use the machine in winter.
I have been running the T4S tracks for about 30 miles now on my 2015 Viking. I cross about 3 miles of nasty swamp to get to the cabin and lots of hills. I cant speak to the actual grade of the hills but the drive sprocket gears down the ratio to almost half. Top speed is 30ish with the tracks on. I havent even had to do a clutch kit on it and I live in two wheel high. Three full size adults and 500 pounds of gear in the bed and no issues whatsoever. Best thing I have bought so far as far as getting where you want to go with very little stress.
Crap! My wife weighs more than all of them! Nothing like being locked and loaded with Budweiser to climb a steep hill
