Some V owners have been experiencing air breather freeze ups. This caused by hot engine gasses passing through the breather hose into the air intake chamber. In winter, when the hot gas meets the cold, it will adventualy freeze the line closed. Resulting crank case gases pressure up and force the dipstick from it location spewing oil , which could cause engine failure. The best way of preventing this is;

1) insulating the breather line from the head to the air intake box. (May work in temperature near zero)
2) most effective is to tee near the head and install a K&N breather. It Must be a breather to prevent dust and debris entering the intake. This is a year round fix, with no need of replacing the slit line as previous suggested. Insulation could be applied as well.

Happy holidays!
