Those are pretty cool looking rails. You bring up a good point because I had to make my own because of the OEM cargo box like you mentioned... (1 1/8" angle iron and 1" tubing)

It wouldn't take much to create the new shorter version other than a tape measure! And there are plenty of us with the box! You could leave the longer mounting rail and we could mount the box over the rail with it. Just shorten the top bar.
