Debating on winch mount options. Standard location on front, advantage behind the push bar/bumper. Receiver mount would allow it to be used front or back, however sticking out all the time or not installed.

one time on an atv, i needed to be pulled out backwards. Usually I am the big boy of the convoy, so if the viking needed to be pulled backward, there probably wouldn't be another vehicle to assist.

thoughts?

thanks!

Mounted in the front out of the way sounds great until it's on the wrong end. I like having options, but putting a winch in a receiver and wiring power to it may not be suitable in certain environments. It's also nice to have a tow strap or two. To me it varies based on terrain and other equipment with you. You know where and who your riding with better than us, definitely trust your own opinion first.

I bought the receiver mount for the viking for the same reason. I am just going to put it in standard place. I don't want it sticking out and usually when you need it trying to install would be a challenge. All this being said, I had to have my ATV pulled out backwards one time it was stuck too because it slipped up against a tree as I was spinning trying to get out on my own.

Plus wiring is the big challenge to put it in multiple locations.
